8 October 2005: I created the 69 Mach 1 Registry site today. Just a front page with a form for people to fill out. I'll just wait to see how much interest there is.
3 October 2005: I've been reading
and reading anything I can get my hands on about Mustangs lately. And I'm putting together my Mustang website (obviously.) I'm considering starting a '69 Mach 1 Registry since there isn't one. I should probably put something out on the internet and see if there is much interest.
My cousin Justin and I have been working out some more details about what I'm doing with the car. We're talking with Alston Racing in Antioch about putting my '69 body on the "frame" of a '93 Thunderbird Super Coupe. I've also decided to modify my 390 into a 428 "ram-air" CJ or something close to that, including the shaker hood.
Julie and I went to the Chicago Vintage Mustang Club Picnic yesterday down at Busse Woods in Schaumburg. I took some pictures and posted them here. It was our first meeting and a lot of fun. I got to see some actual working cars and meet some really nice people. Maybe if I keep attending these meetings it will keep me motivated to work on my car.
25 September 2005: I can't believe how long it's been since I've done anything with this car. We went to the Ford Racing Innovation Test Drive a few weeks ago, and I got to drive the new '05 Mustang GT. WOW! What a motivator getting behind the wheel of that car! I've been reading all my Mustang magazines and wanting to work on the car (take it apart), but I need to at least finish cutting the wood for the bookcases we're putting in the office so I can actually get to the car.
